Prancing Ponies began with a love of horses – a passion for raising and training polo ponies on the rolling paddocks of our family property. Our Horse Breeding and Training Facility was established in 1993, and we have many successful stories of our home bred Polo Ponies. Over time, something unexpected happened: we found ourselves dreaming beyond the stables. Dreaming of a space where memories are made, vows are exchanged, and stories begin.
Today, Prancing Ponies is a unique wedding and events venue with room to host up to 300 guests, where rustic charm meets flexible elegance. Whether you’re planning a lavish, fully-serviced celebration or a relaxed, DIY affair, we offer a range of options to suit your budget, your style, and your story. You can even share the space with another special event – the perfect solution for couples wanting a beautiful wedding without the high price tag. Our roots may be in polo, but our hearts are in hospitality. We’ve poured our energy into creating a space that feels both grand and grounded – a venue that celebrates love in all forms, from every background, in every season of life. This land has been home to so many beautiful beginnings, and we can’t wait for it to be the setting for yours.

Prancing Ponies is set on 40 acres of farmland in the beautiful Clevedon area, 45 minutes drive from Auckland City. We welcome you to join us for a guided tour of our wedding and event venue. Tours are by appointment only.
